After the agony of last night at the ball park, the sheer torture of having something you've coveted so long about to be given to you and taken away, we try again.
I suppose Cub fans are like Sisyphus anyway. Last night we were so close to the top of the damn rock we could see the lights below all beaming at us.
So I trudge back up the 14 blocks to the ball park again tonight. Much less anticipation. Much more trepidation and nerves. Last night was going to be a coronation. Tonight is a wake with the potential for the cadaver to come back to life. That would truly be extraordinary. If the Cub loses tonight and you don't hear from me in 4 days call 911.
